Girls Who Had Nowhere Else to Go
The girls at Sree Giri arrive from some of the hardest circumstances imaginable — orphaned, abandoned, some left as foundlings. Between the ages of 4 and 17, they find in this institution something most children take for granted: a safe place, a consistent adult, and a school that believes in them.
Held to the Same Standard
The Giri School does not lower the bar because its students have difficult histories. It holds them to exactly the standard one would expect for any child — and the results reflect that. Girls who arrived with no educational foundation go on to build careers, support communities, and return to give back to the institution that raised them.
A Chance, Not Charity
What the Giri School offers is not sympathy. It is structure, expectation, and genuine opportunity. For a girl who has been told — implicitly or explicitly — that she does not matter, being held to a high standard is itself an act of dignity.
