Who Are We?
The LCR Foundation is a U.S.-based 501(c)(3) public charity dedicated to creating lasting pathways to safety, education, opportunity, and independence for at-risk women and girls.
We strengthen trusted organizations that protect, educate, and empower women and girls who have faced exploitation, abandonment, and the harshest realities of life. Rather than building new programs from the outside, we invest in what already works: identifying the specific ways girls are most at risk, connecting proven partners in India with resources and expertise from the United States, and committing to that work over years, not a single gift.
That commitment now includes supporting the design of evidence-based programs, drawing on research and academic insight to ensure that the help we fund leads to lasting independence.

A Legacy of Giving
For generations, the Rajan family has believed that giving is not simply about helping in a moment. It is about standing beside people long enough for opportunity, dignity, and independence to take root.
That belief began with Suresh Rajan’s father, was carried forward by Suresh and his wife, Sarah Rajan, and today continues through the next generation and the LCR Foundation.
For decades, the family supported a home in Kerala that offered women and girls something many had been denied: safety, stability, and the chance to build a future.
It was more than a shelter. It was a place to feel safe, to be seen, and to begin again.
Many of the girls who grew up there went on to pursue higher education, build careers, and create lives of their own.
Today, the LCR Foundation carries that commitment forward by working with organizations across India that protect, educate, and empower women and girls.
Our hope is simple: to help create the kind of lasting opportunity that can change the course of a life.
